Irena Sendler – Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize
Irena Sendler recently died at age 98. Few know her story.
During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had a motive since she knew the Nazi’s plans for the Jews.
Irena smuggled infants out of the Ghetto in the bottom of the tool box she carried. For larger kids, she used a burlap sack she carried in the back of her truck.
She had a dog in the back of her truck that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.
Over many years, she smuggle out and saved 2500 kids and infants. One day, the Nazi’s caught her and broke her legs and arms and beat her severely.
Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out of the Ghetto and kept the list in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that survived. Of course, most had been gassed.
The kids she saved were placed in foster homes or adopted.
Last year Irena was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize ….. They did not select Irena.
Instead, they gave the Peace Prize to Al Gore for his slide show on Global Warming and to 800 or more university professors who support the United Nations global warming agenda.
Please get the facts about who won the Nobel Peace Prize in the year 2008 when Irena Sendler was nominated. The 2008 prize was not given to the environmentalist “Al Gore for his slide show”—thankfully he deservingly received it in 2009 sharing with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for their focussed “efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change”—severely important work for certain. In 2008 the prize was awarded to Martti Ahtisaari for his 3 decades of fighting for human rights and peace, internationally, including putting in place, the Aceh peace deal (Indonesia) that ended years of conflict—in case you’re interested—a conflict that killed between 10,000 and 30,000 people with no end in sight. The peace deal he championed ended 29 years of horrific war crimes, torture, kidnapping, large-scale human rights violations including executions, disappearances, rape, imprisonment of peaceful activists, and unfair trials of suspected sympathizers of government. Perhaps it is not fair that another true hero like Irena Sendler was not selected as the winner—and maybe in another year she would have won the prize or maybe it would have been awarded to one of the other 181 nominees—but Ahtisaari certainly deserved the Peace Prize after devoting his entire life to peace—peace that, because of his work, is still in effect in world regions today. Learn the facts.
Thanks for the info. It’s election now… may God have mercy on us.
Except it wasn’t a claim that she was nominated in 2008 but rather 2007. The year gore won for his collaboration on climate change. Since irena cannot be entered when this very elderly woman subsequently died within a year or two of her reputed nomination she can never be nominated. But given the nobel peace prize was given to al gore for climate change in the heel of v the hockey stick graph scandal by the University of Scotland, and one to Barack Obama for nonsense … really for what he might do rather than what he did do and in the past to Yasser Arafat a terrorist some would argue it makes the award somewhat of a joke. All this said , Irena was awarded an award as a Righteous Person by Israel for her past actions in saving thousands of children and putting her own life in peril by doing so. I would argue that award is far more valuable and noble to receive than the average nobel peace prize which has been sold out as politicized nonsense
As you know Al Gore promised if he was elected as president, he would make partial birth abortion legal.
In case you don’t understand what that is, as the baby comes out from the mother’s womb, it gets chopped up. A true hero. Bravo! ( I’m being sarcastic here).
Anybody defending or quoting the IPCC is doing so knowing that that body has been thoroughly discredited for their lies.
Exactly. People who either wilfully ignore that they fabricated graphs indicating a rise in climate change because if v they used the real numbers they would not have received the same reactions. They had to make stuff up and promote it v as science. The infamous hockey stick graph.
Typo—-Gore won in 2007 2009 was Obama
Last night I watched a film about her. She is a true Hero. She doesn’t need a stupid prize from narrow minded people. She has an eternal reward in heaven. Al Gore, on the other hand, probably won’t make it there. If he does, he would hard time explaining his stand on partial birth abortion to a Holy God. Sorry, no patting on the back there. He is a poor excuse of a human being.
Great points.
She was nominated in 2007. At 97 years old. Knowing they would not grant an award to anyone after the die — they opted to skip over her and give it to AL Gore and the IPCC. … despite the scandal over the made up numbers in the infamous hockey stick graph. Your whole aim to discredit the post on this topic should be taken down. The nobel peace prize was awarded to a man in 2007 who personally profits off of climate change and to an agency that has fabricated statistics to meet their narrative. And they skipped over a 97 year old heroine who was nearly killed and was tortured in her quest to set up a network and save thousands of babies and children from certain death. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2007/mar/15/secondworldwar.poland
