Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them

by Dr. Ed Berry

Chuck Baldwin and Stewart Rhodes, both residents of Flathead Valley, Montana, profess to be conservative but their actions work to help Obama and Democrats and not Romney and Republicans. Don’t follow them.

This election will be very close and America’s freedom hangs by a thread.
America’s next president will be either Romney or Obama whether we like it or not. And if you are not for Romney then you are for Obama.

A recent Rasmussen poll of national leanings shows 46% will vote for Obama, 48% will vote for Romney, 4% are undecided, and 2% say they will vote for a third-party or not at all. These 2% are conservatives and they may turn the US election from Romney to Obama. If they do, they will have to explain their votes to their children and grandchildren.

Republican candidates in the US states depend upon a national movement to vote Romney and Republican on the whole ballot.

In Montana, the situation is more serious.

In Montana, the 2% is about 5%. Montana Ron Paul supporters must wake up and support our Republican candidates or they will lose Montana.

They are the ones who think they can achieve their political goals by being Lone Rangers. They are the dissatisfied Ron Paul supporters who will not help their own conservative cause by supporting Romney.

They say “do not vote for the lesser of 2 evils.”

Read Gary DeMar’s, A Response to the ‘No Lesser of Two Evils’ Crowd.

They claim there is not a “dime’s worth of difference” between Romney and Obama, or between Republicans and Democrats. Such opinions belong in the fictitious world of absolutes but not in our relativistic world of reality.

Read Gary Duigon’s, Down with the Democrats.

Ron Paul will not endorse Mitt Romney. This puts Ron Paul in the 2%.

Gary Johnson dropped out of the Republican Presidential primary. Now he is running as the Libertarian nominee for president. Gary is now in the 2% who are inadvertently working to elect Obama.

There is no chance America will elect Johnson. But there is a chance Johnson could turn a state like New Hampshire from Romney to Obama if enough voters are foolish enough to follow Baldwin and Rhodes.

This election will be very close and America’s freedom hangs by a thread.

America’s next president will be either Romney or Obama whether you like it or not. And if you are not for Romney then you are for Obama.

Chuck Baldwin’s rants against Republicans can sabotage the efforts of his son, Tim Baldwin, to win a tight race for Montana’s House District 4. Chuck Baldwin’s “tip of the spear” will stab conservatives and not liberals if he does not wake up in time.

There is just as big a difference between Montana Republican Governor candidate Rick Hill and his opponent Steve Bullock and there is between Romney and Obama. This holds true for all the Republican candidates in Montana. It is time for all conservatives to support all our Republican candidates. Send them money.

Kurt Schlichter, writing in Breitbart.com makes this point very well:

There is no more time for games, no room for hurt feelings. Ron Paul fans, you need to choose, because not voting for Romney is a vote for Obama. It’s that simple. And you could make the difference.

Maybe Romney isn’t the uncompromising Ayn Rand hero you’d design if you could build your ideal candidate from scratch, but he’s a lot better than [Obama].

Making no choice in this election is a choice – it’s a choice for a collectivist who will get two or three Supreme Court picks over a man who picked a guy, Paul Ryan, who understands capitalism and its unbreakable link to human freedom.

Mitt Romney is working to convince the 4% undecided to vote Republican. The 2% need to cut Romney some slack because it is impossible to send a message to the electorate that will resonate with the 4% and also with the 2%.

Kurt Schlichter continues:

The Republicans are not libertarians, but at least libertarian-conservatives make up an influential and growing part of the party. There are exactly zero “libertarian-liberals.”

That’s why it’s silly to dismiss Romney as no different than Obama.

This is no time to “make a statement” or pout that Ron Paul got treated badly in Tampa.

Priorities, people. Nothing less than the Constitution is at stake here.

No choice is a choice, and with the polls showing a dead-even race every vote that does not go to Romney is effectively a vote for Obama. There’s no debate here; you opt out and you support Obama by default. How can any principled libertarian do that?

Don’t be the guy in 20 years who looks over his shoulder to make sure no policemen are listening and then says to his kids,

“Back in 2012, I was mad because Ron Paul lost and then got disrespected. I loved the Constitution, but I was mad, and so I let the guy who hated the Constitution win. I’m sorry. I am so, so sorry.”

Support and vote for Mitt Romney, or help Obama complete his transformation of America into a nation that violates every principle you claim you embrace.

I am going to get a little Biblical here to help make my point.

I in no way profess to be a Bible scholar. (I am a physicist and what do physicists know about the Bible?) Yet, this message is well-known, very clear, and powerful. From Answers.com:

Mat 7:15 – Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Mat 7:16 – Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Mat 7:17 – Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

Mat 7:18 – A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Mat 7:19 – Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Mat 7:20 – Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Chuck Baldwin and Stewart Rhodes are working to stop their followers from voting for Romney and Republicans. As result, they will cause the exact opposite of what they are preaching. Their fruits, therefore, are evil.

Here is my parable:

You are very thirsty and you have 3 glasses of water before you.

The first glass represents the Democratic Party and Obama. Its water is dirty and it has a poison that will cause you to wither and die in 4 years.

The second glass represents the Republican Party and Romney. Its water is equally dirty but it will not make you sick or cause you to die. Drink it and you will live to fight another day.

The third glass represents your third-party candidate. Its water is clear water but it has a poison that will kill you on November 7, 2012.

From which glass will you drink?

If all you can see is that the water in the Democrat glass is as dirty as the Republican glass, and you drink from the Independent glass, you, and possibly your America, will die on November 7.

Chuck Baldwin and Steward Rhodes are asking you to drink from the Independent glass. Don’t do it!

Appendix: Examples

Here is an example diatribe by Chuck Baldwin:

But the problem is a Romney-Ryan administration will do nothing to change the downward spiral of the nation. They will continue the fanatical interventionist, preemptive war policies of Obama and Bush. They will also continue to build and construct the Orwellian domestic Police State–and as Sonny and Cher sang, “The Beat Goes On.”

And here is one by Stewart Rhodes:

Anyone who thinks we have time to play politics for another election cycle, or two or three, is delusional. And even if that were not so, folding and supporting the “lesser of two evils” is still supporting evil. Romney is an oath breaking traitor. You vote for him, or support him, you become one too.

  1. Here are my parables:

Do you want to vote for Hitler or Stalin?

Do you want to vote for portapotty candidate 1 with 50 floating items
in it or for portapotty candidate 2 with 49 floating items in it?

Do you want to vote for thug 1 or thug 2?

Do you want to vote for the candidate going 950 mph over the cliff or
the candidate going 940 mph over the cliff?

Do you prefer liar candidate #1 or liar candidate #2?

Do you want to vote for a candidate who is an uncontested dictator or
a candidate who condoned and overlooked a charade campaign and
convention that broke its own rules, broke opponent delegate bones,
broke ranks with any sense of integrity and honest, and broke God's
    laws continually?

I will concede this much. Willard winning might (might!) slow down the
inexorable collapse of the economy, but frankly that's not in his
hands, because his shadowboxing against the FED is mere show antics to
try to please a disenfranchised (by him and the RNC) constituency who
    championed anti-Fed rhetoric AND action.

"If one chooses pragmatism over principle, one will get neither!"

  2. So-called Conservatives have been voting for the lesser of two evils for decades. And guess what, they got evil! Folks, you don't have to be a scientist to connect these dots.

The hand-wringers remind me of the old definition of Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Oh yea, Romney will be the answers to our prayers, just like ole Mr. NDAA, John McCain would have been.

  3. Hi MontanaGuy,

You comment applies much more to those who decade after decade vote for a third party candidate only to get the "worst of two evils."

No one is saying Romney is perfect. No candidate is perfect. Ron Paul is not perfect! When you chose Ron Paul in the primary election you were voting for the "lesser of two evils" in your opinion.

But now, Ron Paul is no longer in the presidential race. Your next president will be either Obama or Romney. Surely you are not telling me you prefer Obama over Romney … or that you cannot make up you mind.

If you are intelligent enough to see the obvious, then you know Romney is far better for America than another four years of Obama. Then, it should be obvious that you should support Romney – and Rick Hill, Tim Fox, Derek Skees, Brad Johnson, Sandy Welch, Denny Rehberg, Steve Daines – not only for yourself and your family but for your duty to America.

"Hand-wringers"? They are not those who support Romney and other Republicans.

Your "hand-wringers" are those like the two gentlemen I mentioned at the top of my post. They are those, like you, who denigrate Romney and other Republicans before the most important and significant election of your lifetime. They are those who produce only distractions and offer no solutions. They have lost their focus and their fruit is rotten.

Mat 7:20 – Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

  4. Ed,
You remind of a particular pastor that I used to sit under, he would cherry pick the scriptures until he found enough verses to support his point. I am not a supporter or defender of Chuck Baldwin or Stewart Rhodes; however, I have never heard either of these men proclaim they were prophets. In addition, are you comparing political punditry with the fruits of salvation?
If you want to chew on some Bible verses consider the following:
2Jn 1:9 Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.
    2Jn 1:10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting;
2Jn 1:11 for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.
1Ti 5:22 Do not lay hands upon anyone too hastily and thereby share responsibility for the sins of others; keep yourself free from sin.
I believe that Chuck is correct when he makes the statement about "voting for the lesser of two evils." However, Chuck never defends his position based on the scriptures. When we vote for evil, whether it is the lesser of two evils, we are still inviting evil into our house. As a practicing Mormon, Mitt Romney is part of a cult that denies the deity of Yeshua. According to 1 John 2:22 Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.; therefore, a vote for Romney is a vote for an antichrist.
We Americans have been inviting evil into our house for many elections, and because of it we are reaping God's judgement onto ourselves. In Judges 19 you can read how God turned the tribe of Benjamin over to judgement because of their homosexuality. The evidence of that is the rampant homosexuality in the US. Our government offers them protection and special rights. In fact, Mitt Romney supported same sex marriages. In addition, Mitt Romney supports or has supported abortion. I can not imagine a scenario where a Godly man could support homosexuality or abortion. http://www.bereanbiblechurch.org/transcripts/roma

You see Ed, God will raise up a just and righteous leader when his people repent of their accepting evil into their house and turn back to correct Bible teachings. The Bible teaches that God is completely sovereign over his creation; however, supposed you would place creation over the Creator. With God offering us the two mainstream candidates He is telling us that we have further judgement ahead. The Christian Church in America is lukewarm and we are being spit from His mouth. Based on my knowledge of the scriptures every time there was persecution of the Church it is like the refiners fire.

Lets look at the real Mitt Romney or at least the one he wanted the voters of Massachusetts to see back in the 1994 Senate race against Ted Kennedy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9IJUkYUbvI
Yes, I will agree the video has been cherry picked; however, Romney in his own words refuses to stand by the only absolute truth the world knows, the Word of God
