CSKT Water Compact & Preachy Accuracy Stuff

by Dr. Ed Berry

Question: How does the CSKT Water Compact debate relate to facts?

Answer: Opponents of the Compact reject facts that conflict with their preconceived opinions.

Non Sequitur” by Wiley Miller provides these great examples:

These cartoons illustrate the fundamental problem with the debate over Montana’s CSKT Water Compact. The opponents of the Water Compact reject facts in favor of their personal fiction.

When I suggest that lack of facts is their problem, they call me “preachy” or “arrogant” because they don’t want to know the truth and think anyone who tells them the truth is their enemy.

This cartoonist hit the nail on the head. We don’t have an issue problem. We have a “people” problem.
