As you know, I’m proud of the fact that I’m a solid constitutional conservative. You know me and my family as avid sportsmen and outdoor recreationist. You also know me as fiercely independent and that I don’t agree with Denny Rehberg on everything (to be honest, I don’t 100% agree with anyone).
I served in the State Senate with Jon Tester and know him and his votes well. I disagree with him almost 100% of the time on the important issues.
I’ve written you before about why I think Denny is Montana’s best hope to stand up for our values in the United States Senate. I wouldn’t send you another message if it wasn’t important.
The liberal progressives have launched an unprecedented and dishonest strategy to ensure Barack Obama’s “go to Senator” Jon Tester, goes back to the Senate, so he can continue rubber stamping Obama’s ultra-liberal agenda.
The well-funded, extreme left-wing League of Conservation Voters (LCV), is throwing its weight behind an unlikely candidate for U.S. Senate – Dan Cox, the Libertarian running for the United States Senate. It is an obvious attempt to divide conservative votes and ensure victory for the Obama-Tester team.
The League of Conservation Voters is a radical environmental group based in San Francisco and Washington D.C. that has led the charge to block energy production in Montana, stop the Keystone XL Pipeline and lock up Montana lands in federal control. LCV is also Tester’s top contributor. In 2006, Tester boasted that he couldn’t have won without their help.
For weeks now, the LCV has been calling likely conservative voters on the phone pretending to be something they’re not and promoting a libertarian vote. Now they’ve spent nearly half a million dollars on dishonest TV ads and mailers to accomplish the same goal.
Their plan is to trick conservatives into dividing our vote and the power we have if undivided, leaving Jon Tester to win the election with less than a majority support. They know that Tester’s record of 95% support for Barack Obama has made him unelectable, so instead of asking people to vote for Tester they are trying to trick conservatives into not voting for Denny.
This LCV’s effort is masked behind a front group called the Montana Hunters and Anglers Leadership Fund. In July, this group ran by Obama operatives in Montana, revealed it to be nothing more than a front group for the LCV. A quick glance at who’s behind the group reveals close ties to Max Baucus, Jon Tester and Barack Obama. And they want to tell conservatives how to vote?
As an avid sportsman, I know I’m not alone in condemning the suggestion that this group speaks for me. The League of Conservation Voters does not have any hunters interests at heart, their goal is simply to get Jon Tester and Barack Obama re-elected. And they think we’re stupid. Don’t be fooled.
Denny Rehberg is our best option for Montana’s U.S. Senate seat. He is a conservative who will stand up for Montana and the U.S. Constitution in the Senate.
Denny Rehberg is:
- The only candidate who is endorsed by Ron Paul.
- The only candidate who is endorsed by Rick Santorum.
- The only candidate who has an A+ Grade from the NRA and GOA.
- The only candidate who is endorsed by the Montana Shooting Sports Association.
- The only candidate who voted against Obamacare and led the charge to de-fund it.
- The only candidate who voted against Obama’s effort to raise the debt ceiling.
- The only candidate who consistently opposed extending the USA PATRIOT Act.
- The only candidate who is working to secure our border against illegal immigration.
- The only candidate who is fighting for a full audit of the Federal Reserve.
And Denny Rehberg is the only candidate who can beat Jon Tester.
After we have elected Denny Rehberg to the U.S. Senate we will be able to continue to express our views and hold him accountable to us, the conservative base. Jon Tester will continue to ignore us if elected.
Sadly, it appears Dan Cox is a willing participant in the effort to protect Jon Tester’s job.
Dan Cox has embraced the support of the ultra-left wing group LCV. He now has something in common with Jon Tester – both candidates have received more financial support from the League of Conservation Voters than any other group or individual. That’s not something a conservative should be proud of, yet when a reporter asked him about the support he’s getting from the LCV, he indicated that he “loved it.” Really?
Jon Tester, as we know voted with Obama 95% of the time and who cast the deciding vote for Obamacare, who supported spending that has doubled our deficit in his 6-year term, who has an F-rating from the Gun Owners of America for confirming two anti-gun Supreme Court Justices, who sides with the Environmental Protection Agency over Montana businesses, who voted for a taxpayer bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
With Cox and Tester clearly collaborating with the League of Conservation Voters against Denny Rehberg, Conservatives need to vote, and do so without being misguided in this election.
The stakes are too high to allow Jon Tester another 6 years in the Senate supporting Harry Reid and confirming anti-gun liberal Supreme Court Justices.
