Love him or hate him, we can all agree Donald Trump is unique. After he announced his candidacy on June 16th, Trump’s poll numbers rocketed past Jeb Bush, the default establishment candidate.
Trump combines a degree from the Wharton School of Finance, international business experience, political insight, speaking ability, guts, and about $9 billion in assets. He is the first real threat to the Washington political establishment.
Nevin Gussack wrote the book, Sowing the Seeds of Our Destruction: Useful Idiots on the ‘Right.’ He contends the trade policies under Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Obama served the interests of hostile countries like China to the detriment of America.
Gussack writes about Trump,
“Trump’s economics and aspects of his national security strategy challenge the Washington Consensus of globalism, free trade, and other internationalist policies.”
Cliff Kincaid believes trade agreements and policies may be the sleeper issue of the 2016 presidential campaign.
