Although I never knew Eugene Cernan, I feel a special closeness to him. He is my generation. He fulfilled my childhood dream. With him, was Harrison Schmitt, geologist extraordinaire, my 1957 classmate at Caltech who taught me the difference between orthoclase and plagioclase in freshman geology class. – Ed
