They asked the U.S. District Court to issue
an emergency Temporary Restraining Order (“TRO”) and preliminary injunction prohibiting the Federal Regulatory Commission (“FERC” or “Commission”) from authorizing, approving and facilitating the scheduled September 5, 2015, conveyance of the Kerr Hydroelectric Project, Project No. 5 (“Kerr Project”) to the Confederated Salish Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Reservation (“CSKT” or “Tribes”) …
Their hearing was today. The judge did not issue a TRO. He will hear arguments from both sides in November.
The plaintiffs are former Montana Senator Verdell Jackson (R), Senator Bob Keenan (R), and Bill Myers in behalf of his business, Pointer Enterprises. All three also opposed the CSKT Water Compact. Keenan owns the Bigfork Inn. Also in Bigfork, Myers gives boat rides to tourists. [Read more…]
